Eight years ago, nestled on the historic public square of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, a dream took root—and it has been blooming ever since.

What began as a vision by Rhonda to start a little flower shop on the square with family, as a family owned and operated venture manifested rather quickly into Veda’s Flowers & Gifts: a charming boutique filled with vibrant blooms, heartfelt gifts, and the kind of warmth only family can bring.
Now, as Veda’s celebrates its 8th anniversary, the shop remains a beloved staple of the community, radiating creativity, connection, and joy. This isn’t just a celebration of business longevity—it’s a celebration of petals, passion, and people.
A Sister Act Built on Heart and Humor
Rhonda and Kim just don't manage a typical flower shop—they built a space where love lives in every arrangement and laughter lingers in every corner. Just ask Mindy, our master floral designer!

“People ask us how we work together every day,” Kim says with a grin. “And we say, 'Very carefully—usually with coffee and music playing in the background.'
The entire staff chemistry is undeniable. Their personalities complement one another perfectly—Rhonda’s attention to detail in all things small business to Mindy's personal touch for detail and floral design blends effortlessly with Kim’s eye for customer service and merchandising.

But what truly makes Veda’s unique is that the entire staff has a lot of fun—even when things get chaotic during Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, or Christmas.
Whether they’re dancing around the shop while prepping centerpieces, making Instagram reels with employees, or coming up with quirky new gift bundles, their joy is contagious.
How It All Began: The Story Behind Veda’s
The idea for Veda’s Flowers & Gifts was born out of nostalgia and ambition. The family had always dreamed of running something together—something creative, community-based, and joyful.
They named the shop Veda’s in honor of their late grandmother, who's inspired the shops identity of love of hospitality, home, and heart.

“Mamaw Veda believed in making people feel special,” Rhonda says. “This shop is our way of carrying that legacy forward.” Read more about our humble beginnings with more images and memories by clicking here!
From the very beginning, the mission was simple: create a place where every customer feels welcome and every arrangement tells a story.
A Shop That Feels Like Home
Walk into Veda’s on any given day, and you’ll be greeted with the scent of fresh flowers, soft music playing overhead, and displays that change with every season. From cheerful sunflowers in the summer to elegant holiday wreaths in winter, the shop mirrors the rhythm of the year.
It’s more than just florals—Veda’s carries hand-picked gifts, local crafts, home décor, and whimsical items you won’t find in big-box stores.
The shop has also become a go-to destination for weddings, sympathy arrangements, prom bouquets, baby showers, and everyday “just because” flowers.
Each bouquet, directed by Mindy is crafted with intention, and each customer is treated like a friend. “We don’t just sell flowers,” says Kim. “We sell moments—anniversaries, congratulations, sympathy, encouragement, love. That means something to us.”
The Power of Community Support
One of the biggest reasons Veda’s has thrived for eight years is its deep roots in the Murfreesboro community. Rhonda and Kim have never taken their local support for granted.
“We’re not here without this town,” says Rhonda. “The BORO is family. They show up for us, and we show up for them.”
Veda’s regularly participates in downtown festivals and holiday parades. The shop was especially proud to remain open—offering curbside pickup and doorstep deliveries—throughout the pandemic, brightening people’s days during uncertain times.
This two-way connection between Veda’s and the community is what keeps the shop flourishing.
“We’ve seen little kids grow up into teenagers,” Kim reflects. “We’ve been a part of families’ stories. That’s the greatest gift.”
This anniversary date will always hold a special place in all of our hearts. Of course, there will also be plenty of laughter, hugs, and maybe a few happy tears.
